Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Convention Planning Committee, Ahmadu Fintiri, says the party is fully set to proceed to Ibadan for its scheduled elective convention.
Fintiri made the confirmation in a brief interview on Thursday night after a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The gathering drew several key figures of the party, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde; PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum; former Senate President Bukola Saraki; PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba; and former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Tanimu Turaki, among others.
Speaking to journalists after the closed-door session, an evidently upbeat Fintiri said the party had taken “elaborate decisions” regarding its next steps.
“We’ve just come out of our critical stakeholders’ meeting where a lot of elaborate decisions were taken,” he said. “I want to tell you here that we are going to Ibadan for our convention, and the convention is sacrosanct.”
He gave no further details on deliberations, as his security aides promptly ushered him away when journalists attempted additional questions.
