President Bola Tinubu has submitted a shortlist of three ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for legislative confirmation.
The announcement was made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Wednesday’s plenary, which was broadcast on the National Assembly’s YouTube channel. The nominees include Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Ayodele Oke.
Akpabio noted that the transmission marked the beginning of a broader appointment process, saying the list contained “three names for now,” with more nominations expected in due course.
The President has not appointed any ambassadors since assuming office in 2023, a delay that has attracted increasing public criticism.
