Bello Refutes Claims of Rift With President Tinubu, Disowns Viral Video

Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has dismissed suggestions of a strained relationship between him and President Ahmed Tinubu, describing the claims circulating online as false and malicious.

The speculation stemmed from a viral video posted by a social media user, Joy Sadiq, alleging cracks in Bello’s rapport with the President. In a statement personally signed and released in Lokoja on Sunday, Bello firmly disassociated himself from the content creator and her assertions, stressing that her remarks do not reflect any known reality.

According to the former governor, Sadiq has no formal link to him and, at best, only appears among individuals who claim what he termed “dubious allegiance” to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State. He urged Nigerians to disregard her comments, noting that they were crafted to cast aspersions on his personal and political relationships.

Bello said the claims—particularly those suggesting betrayal or exclusion from the Federal Government—were completely unfounded. He emphasized that the commentator neither speaks for him nor represents him in any capacity.

He reaffirmed that his relationship with President Tinubu remains cordial, respectful and anchored on shared political goals. Bello added that he is fully committed to supporting the President’s re-election bid in 2027 and cautioned against any attempts to twist or misrepresent their ties.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has directed security agencies to arrest Sadiq, known online as Real Mama Kogi, over the controversial video. She is reportedly providing further information to investigators regarding the source of her claims.
