Damagum Ratified as PDP National Chairman at Ibadan Convention
Ambassador Umaru Damagum has been formally ratified as the substantive National of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following a unanimous endorsement by delegates at the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention in Ibadan.
His confirmation came after the Chairman of the PDP Edo State chapter, Hon. Tony Abineri, moved a motion on behalf of the 3,000 accredited delegates gathered at the mainbowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium on Saturday. The motion was seconded by Edward Marshal and aligned with the provisions of Section 32 of the amended PDP Constitution.
While presenting the motion, Abineri stated, “I move the motion for the ratification of Ambassador Umaru Damagum as the substantive National Chairman of the party. This is in accordance with Section 32 of the Constitution of the PDP as amended.”
With the delegates’ unanimous vote, the PDP affirmed Damagum’s leadership, marking a significant moment in the party’s internal administrative process.
