NYSC Cautions Corps Members Against Unauthorized Travel

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a fresh warning to corps members, urging them to avoid travelling without proper approval in order to reduce the risk of road-related incidents during their service year.

Director-General of the scheme, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, delivered the caution in Edo State while addressing members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ at the Orientation Camp. His remarks were contained in a statement signed by NYSC spokesperson, Gbenga Fanegane.

Nafiu advised the corps members to prioritise their personal safety by remaining vigilant at their places of primary assignment and avoiding night trips. He also emphasised the need for responsible use of information in the digital age.

“Always get correct information and establish facts before circulating anything on social media platforms,” he said, warning them to steer clear of activities such as cultism, cybercrime, thuggery and other behaviours that could endanger their safety.

Earlier in her remarks, Edo State Coordinator, Dr. Ifeoma Frances Ben-Ushie, commended the Director-General for ensuring a conducive environment for corps members and camp officials.
