Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has expressed confidence that Nigeria remain firmly on course to clinch the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title as they prepare for a semi-final showdown with hosts Morocco in Rabat on Wednesday.
Nigeria booked their place in the last four with an assured 2-0 victory over Algeria in Saturday’s quarter-final, while Morocco progressed after recording an identical scoreline against Cameroon.
The Super Eagles have been one of the standout teams of the tournament, maintaining a perfect record and scoring 14 goals across their matches so far.
Adams has played a key role in that run, contributing directly to four goals with two strikes and two assists. Speaking ahead of the clash with the Atlas Lions, the striker made it clear that the team’s ambition remains unchanged.
“Our objective is simple, to win,” Adams said. “We want to win everything. We aim as high as possible, and we believe that target is within our reach. We stay humble, but we know what we can do as a team. We keep working hard, recover well and make sure everyone is ready, then we see the result.”
The Sevilla forward has enjoyed a rapid rise with the national team since making his Super Eagles debut in October 2025 during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where he marked the occasion with a goal in a 2-1 win over Lesotho. He has since recorded four goals and two assists in nine appearances.
Adams has been particularly effective in the knockout rounds, finding the net in Nigeria’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique before scoring again against Algeria in the quarter-final.
His first goal of the tournament came in the 70th minute against Mozambique to cap a dominant performance. In the same encounter, the 25-year-old also set up Ademola Lookman’s opener and played a part in the build-up to Victor Osimhen’s goal.
Adams added his fourth goal of the competition with a calm finish in the quarter-final, dribbling past goalkeeper Luca Zidane after a well-timed pass from Osimhen, following a line-splitting delivery by Alex Iwobi.
