Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu have cemented their places among football’s top aerial performers, ranking prominently in global records for highest jumps and bicycle kicks.
Osimhen sits fifth on the all-time highest jump list following his remarkable 2.58-metre leap during Napoli’s 3-0 win over Spezia in February 2023. The Nigerian striker rose above goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski in the 68th minute, showcasing the athleticism that has made him one of the game’s most dangerous aerial threats. Now at Galatasaray, he has registered nine goals in 12 matches across all competitions this season.
Cristiano Ronaldo retains the world record with a 2.93-metre jump recorded for Real Madrid against Manchester United in the 2013 UEFA Champions League. Youssef En-Nesyri (2.78 metres), Bevis Mugabi (2.62 metres) and Fikayo Tomori (2.61 metres) round out the top four.
In the bicycle kick category, Paul Onuachu holds second place with his 2.41-metre overhead strike for Trabzonspor against Fatih Karagumruk last season. His effort surpassed Ronaldo’s previous best of 2.38 metres.
The top spot is now held by Scotland’s Scott McTominay, whose 2.53-metre overhead finish against Denmark in a World Cup qualifier set a new benchmark. The midfielder, standing 1.91 metres, powered an additional 0.62 metres off the ground to meet a cross from Ben Gannon-Doak.
With McTominay and Onuachu now above him, Ronaldo has dropped to third in the bicycle kick rankings.
Onuachu has also been in fine form this season, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in 13 league appearances for Trabzonspor.
