Barcelona have confirmed that midfielder Dani Olmo will be unavailable for approximately four weeks after dislocating his left shoulder during the club’s 3–1 victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the club said medical assessments conducted after the match indicated that Olmo would undergo conservative treatment rather than surgery. The injury occurred when the Spanish international fell awkwardly while scoring one of the goals that helped Barcelona extend their lead at the top of La Liga to four points.
Olmo, 27, has endured a difficult run with injuries since his arrival from RB Leipzig in 2024, and this latest setback adds to Barcelona’s growing list of absentees. The team is already without Fermin Lopez, Gavi and goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
The midfielder’s absence comes at a challenging moment for the Catalan side, who are preparing for a crucial Champions League encounter against Eintracht Frankfurt next week.
