Ghana Football Association has announced the dismissal of Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars, just weeks before the start of the upcoming World Cup.
The decision came hours after Ghana suffered a 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany in Stuttgart on Monday, with the hosts securing victory through a late goal from Deniz Undav.
The result extended Ghana’s losing streak to four matches, following a heavy 5-1 defeat to Austria in their previous outing.
In a statement, the football association thanked Addo for his service and contribution to the national team, while wishing him success in his future career.
The association added that a new technical direction for the Black Stars would be announced in due course.
Addo, 50, had been in charge of the national side since March 2024.
Ghana are scheduled to compete in a World Cup group featuring England, Croatia and Panama at the tournament in North America.
