Galatasaray place €150m price tag on Osimhen amid growing transfer interest

Transfer speculation surrounding Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has intensified, just months after his record-breaking switch to Galatasaray, prompting club president Dursun Özbek to address the rumours head-on.

The Turkish champions have reportedly valued the Super Eagles forward at an astonishing €150 million — a figure they are expected to demand from any club seeking to sign him. The valuation reflects Osimhen’s soaring status as one of the most in-demand strikers in world football.

English side Chelsea are among several top European clubs linked with a potential move for the 26-year-old, with Fanatik recently reporting renewed interest following his outstanding start to the season.

Since joining Galatasaray from Napoli in a landmark €75 million deal — the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history — Osimhen has been in electrifying form. The Nigerian international has scored nine goals in 12 matches across all competitions this season, including a remarkable six goals in just three Champions League appearances. His performances have helped Galatasaray to three wins in their opening four group games, marking their best start to the competition in over a decade.

Speaking during an awards ceremony in Istanbul, Özbek declined to confirm the reported €150 million valuation but praised Osimhen’s influence.

“Osimhen is one of the most valuable footballers in Türkiye,” he said. “I don’t want to comment on figures, but everyone can see he’s the most valuable player in our league.”

Osimhen’s exploits have not gone unnoticed at continental level. UEFA is reportedly preparing a documentary chronicling his rise, highlighting his recent achievement as the highest-scoring Nigerian player in European club competitions.

With powerhouses such as Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Barcelona all monitoring his situation, speculation continues to mount over whether Galatasaray will be able to keep hold of their star striker when the transfer window reopens.

For now, the question is not whether Osimhen will command a record fee — but just how high Galatasaray can push the bar for one of football’s most sought-after talents.
