The Nigerian naira posted a slight depreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange window on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed the currency traded at 1,350.7402 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) and closed marginally weaker at 1,350.9900 per dollar.
This represents a minor drop when compared with Monday’s rate of 1,349.6737 per dollar, indicating a depreciation of just over one naira.
In the parallel market, the local currency recorded slight gains, with both buying and selling rates easing compared to the previous trading day.
Figures published by Aboki FX indicated that the naira exchanged at 1,392 per dollar for buying and 1,400 per dollar for selling on Tuesday, reflecting a reduction from Monday’s rates.
The mixed performance across market segments highlights continued adjustments in the foreign exchange market, as demand and supply dynamics remain key drivers of the naira’s movement.
