The Nigerian naira weakened further against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, extending its recent losses amid sustained pressure in the currency market.
Figures published on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s official platform showed that the naira traded at ₦1,380.0775 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market and closed at ₦1,389.00/$ at the end of trading.
The latest performance represents a depreciation of about ₦9.44 when compared with Tuesday’s NFEM rate of ₦1,370.6373 to the dollar.
At the parallel market, however, the local currency remained unchanged from the previous day’s level. Data from Aboki FX showed that the naira traded at ₦1,390 per dollar for buying and ₦1,395 per dollar for selling on Wednesday.
