Putin Invited To Trump’s Proposed Global “Board Of Peace”

The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin has received an invitation to sit on a new international “Board of Peace” proposed by US President Donald Trump, a body intended to mediate conflicts and help oversee post-war governance and reconstruction in Gaza.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the invitation had been delivered, adding that Moscow was seeking further clarification from Washington before deciding whether Putin would accept.

For years, Russia has sought to maintain a delicate diplomatic balance in the Middle East, keeping ties with both Israel and the Palestinians. However, the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, alongside Moscow’s ongoing military campaign in Ukraine, has shifted that stance, with the Kremlin drawing closer to Israel’s regional adversaries, including Iran.

At the same time, Russia has been cultivating stronger relationships with Gulf states as it faces increasing isolation from Western governments.

Peskov said the Kremlin was still examining the details of Trump’s proposal, which envisions a group of international figures working under the US president’s leadership to address global crises.

Putin has previously spoken positively about Trump’s attempts to mediate international disputes, praising what he described as serious efforts to resolve long-running conflicts.

Last October, Putin suggested that if Trump succeeded in his diplomatic initiatives, it could mark a historic breakthrough, particularly in relation to the Middle East.

Moscow’s relations with Israel have cooled sharply since the Gaza war began, with the Kremlin condemning Israel’s military actions following the October 7 attacks and warning of a worsening humanitarian situation in the territory.

During a meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas in May, Putin described conditions in Gaza as a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe and reiterated Russia’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
