Morocco Joins Trump’s Board Of Peace As Founding Member

King Mohammed VI of Morocco has formally accepted an invitation from United States President Donald Trump to serve as a founding member of the newly proposed “Board of Peace,” the Moroccan foreign ministry announced on Monday.

In a statement released through the official MAP news agency, the ministry said the monarch welcomed Trump’s initiative and vision for global stability, prompting his decision to endorse the project.

The statement noted that Morocco would proceed with ratifying the charter that establishes the board, signalling its commitment to the US-led diplomatic platform.

According to the ministry, the initiative is designed to support peace-building efforts in the Middle East and introduce a fresh framework for addressing conflicts worldwide.

Although the board was initially proposed as a mechanism to supervise reconstruction in Gaza, its mandate appears to extend beyond the Palestinian territory, according to documents outlining its scope.

The charter indicates that participating countries, represented by their heads of state or government, would serve for at least three years, with membership potentially extended for nations that contribute more than $1 billion within the first year.

The White House has extended invitations to several global leaders to sit on the board, including Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Hungary’s Viktor Orban, and Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney, with Trump set to chair the body himself.

While Morocco has confirmed its participation, reactions from some Western allies have been cautious, with France and Canada reportedly expressing reservations.

Other invited leaders, including President Putin, have yet to publicly indicate whether they will accept the offer.
