Super Eagles Line Up Poland And Portugal Friendlies For June

Nigeria national football team will take on Poland national football team and Portugal national football team in two international friendly matches in June as part of preparations for upcoming major competitions.

Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the fixtures in a statement issued in Abuja by its Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire.

According to the federation, the first match will be played on June 3 at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, where Nigeria will face Poland.

The second fixture comes up on June 10 against Portugal, with the venue yet to be announced.

FIFA match agent Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport said the games are intended to provide strong competitive tests for the team.

Olajire noted that the friendlies will allow the technical crew to evaluate the squad against high-level European opposition while also testing new tactical options and players.

He said the matches are expected to strengthen team cohesion and help build momentum ahead of future tournaments.

Before the June fixtures, Nigeria will also defend its title at the Unity Cup Tournament in London from May 26 to May 30.

The Super Eagles head into the fixtures after recent friendly outings in Antalya, where they recorded a win over Iran and a draw against Jordan.

The Portugal encounter is also expected to serve as a final tune-up for the European side before departure for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
