ADC Revises Primary Election Timetable Ahead Of 2027 Polls

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced adjustments to its primary election timetable ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing logistical concerns and requests from aspirants.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the party explained that the changes affected selected activities within the primary election schedule, while other previously announced dates remained unchanged.

The notice was jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the revised timetable, submission of nomination forms, initially scheduled for May 13, 2026, has now been moved to May 14, 2026.

The screening exercise for aspirants, earlier fixed for May 14 and 15, will now take place between May 16 and 17, 2026.

The party also disclosed that screening results would be released on May 17, while appeals arising from the screening process are expected to hold between May 18 and 19.

ADC further stated that the final list of cleared candidates would be published on May 20, 2026.

Under the revised post-primary appeal schedule, legislative election appeals are slated for May 22, governorship election appeals for May 23, while presidential election appeals are expected to hold on May 26.

The party added that presidential and governorship aspirants would be screened in Abuja, whereas legislative aspirants would undergo screening in their respective state capitals.

ADC also announced concessionary nomination fees for women and persons with disabilities, stating that eligible aspirants would receive a 25 per cent discount on the standard nomination form cost.

The party assured aspirants who may have paid above the approved concessionary rate that refunds would be processed and communicated in due course.
