Valais police confirmed that the fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. on January 1 at the Le Constellation lounge bar in Crans-Montana, a well-known Alpine resort in the canton of Valais.
Police spokesperson Gaetan Lathion said emergency services responded to the incident, which resulted in multiple casualties. He did not provide specific numbers for those killed or injured, nor did he comment on the cause of the fire.
