Mbappé Leaves France Camp Due to Ankle Inflammation
Kylian Mbappé has pulled out of France’s training camp and returned to Madrid after developing inflammation in his right ankle, the French Football Federation confirmed on Friday.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the 26-year-old forward departed the national team setup following medical assessments that advised rest and closer monitoring. The exact severity of the inflammation has not been disclosed, leaving doubts over Mbappé’s availability for Real Madrid’s upcoming matches.
The forward had featured prominently in France’s 4–0 victory over Ukraine in Thursday’s World Cup qualifier, scoring twice before the discomfort reportedly intensified.
With Mbappé now back in Spain, Real Madrid’s medical staff are expected to oversee his recovery, while France proceed with their training schedule in his absence.
The development comes just days after the forward downplayed his achievement of reaching 400 career goals, saying he aims to set far higher records in world football.
