APC caucus meets at villa to review party strategy

President Bola Tinubu is set to host a meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus at the Presidential Villa today, drawing together key figures across the party’s leadership structure.

Those expected at the high-level session include Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, serving and former governors, current and past principal officers of the National Assembly, members of the party’s National Working Committee, and other senior stakeholders.

The National Caucus meeting traditionally precedes a session of the National Executive Council and is regarded as one of the party’s most influential decision-making platforms. Party insiders describe today’s gathering as largely consultative, aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and setting priorities ahead of future political engagements.

Discussions are expected to centre on party coordination, organisational direction and the need to align interests among leaders across the federation. Sources say the meeting will also provide an opportunity for senior figures to reflect on recent developments within the party and the broader political environment.

The presence of former top officials from the Buhari–Osinbajo administration is seen as significant, particularly in fostering unity and bridging differences among party leaders as preparations gradually build toward the 2027 general elections.

Observers note that the caucus serves as a stabilising forum for the ruling party, offering space for frank dialogue, consensus-building and strategic guidance at the highest level.

Analysts say the meeting underscores the APC’s effort to consolidate its leadership framework and maintain internal harmony as it approaches another electoral cycle
