Grassroots Support For Tinubu Gathers Pace Across Ondo

Community-level political engagement is gaining traction across Ondo State as residents and youth groups step up support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, drawing inspiration from the leadership and mobilisation efforts of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The growing wave of support is being driven largely by grassroots confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda and its perceived impact within local communities.

A former two-term member of the Ondo State House of Assembly and ex-chairman of Akoko South-West Local Government Area, Honourable Abiodun Ogunbi, drew attention to the trend in a statement issued to journalists on Monday.

Ogunbi praised Tunji-Ojo for leveraging his performance in office and long-standing community relationships to promote unity, political participation and renewed optimism among residents, particularly as attention begins to shift towards the 2027 general election.

He said several community-based political support groups, including BTO4PBAT and the Progressives Network for Tinubu, have continued to grow across different parts of the state.

According to him, these groups frequently organise town hall meetings, outreach activities and membership campaigns that bring together youths, artisans, professionals and traditional leaders to engage on development priorities and national progress.

Ogunbi noted that Tunji-Ojo’s grassroots connections and inclusive leadership style have helped deepen civic engagement and motivated young people to play more active roles in public affairs.

He added that youth-centred programmes focusing on economic opportunities, empowerment and leadership development have remained at the core of the pro-Tinubu movement’s activities.

The former lawmaker further observed that the Tinubu administration has delivered what he described as visible outcomes that have resonated positively within communities across Ondo State.

He said this has strengthened confidence among young voters and community stakeholders, many of whom view continuity as key to sustaining ongoing reforms and development efforts.

Ogunbi urged residents to maintain peaceful, community-driven support for Tunji-Ojo and the president’s development agenda, stressing that unity and collective participation are essential to achieving inclusive growth.
