The African Democratic Congress has confirmed a new venue for its national convention scheduled to take place in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a statement shared via its official X platform on Monday, the party disclosed that the event will now hold at the Rainbow Event Centre, citing its accessibility and central location for delegates arriving from across the country.
The party provided details of the venue, noting its proximity to key landmarks, including the FCDA/AGIS building and the Nigerian Television Authority headquarters in Area 11.
The announcement follows earlier uncertainty surrounding the availability of a suitable location for the convention, with concerns raised less than 24 hours before the scheduled event.
Kola Ologbondiyan, media aide to the embattled National Chairman, David Mark, had earlier indicated that the party was yet to secure a venue, despite ongoing preparations.
He revealed that the party had applied to use Eagle Square and also explored options at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, including the Velodrome, but was unsuccessful.
Responding to the claims, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, denied that any formal request had been received for the use of Eagle Square.
Wike maintained that public facilities under his administration are available to all groups, provided due procedures are followed and necessary payments are made, adding that such events contribute to government revenue.
